College Readiness/Placement Testing

Colleges and universities may require students to demonstrate college readiness prior to enrolling. In Texas, students must meet TSI (Texas Success Initiative) standards by taking the TSIA Exam or by scoring high enough on the ACT or SAT.

Trenton High School is a testing site for the TSIA. Contact the school counselor for testing dates. The Grayson College Testing Center offers the TSI throughout the year for added flexibility. Contact them to see available dates and to make arrangements to test.

Cost for the TSI at Trenton High School is $10 for each section, ELAR or Math.

Free TSI practice available here.

Vocational Testing

High schools in Texas are required to offer the ASVAB. THS offers the Career Exploration Program to all 10th grade students. It is the most widely used multiple aptitude test in the world that measures strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. It is commonly associated with military entrance, but it is also an excellent civilian career tool. Trained personnel from the National Guard give students a thorough interpretation of their results.
