Identifying Gifted and Talented Students in Trenton ISD

For the consideration process into the Gifted and Talented program, the community nomination period is open from October 3 through October 14 for the 2022 school year for grades 1-11. After the nominations have been received, the GT Coordinator will send home a permission letter (to be signed and returned by a parent or guardian) in order to begin the assessment process. Then, after the assessments take place, the Gifted and Talented committee will meet to determine if a student demonstrates an educational need to be served in the gifted and talented program. All kindergarten students will automatically be referred into the program in January and the assessment process will start after receiving parental permission for those students who qualify for the program.
