TES AUGUST STAFF SPOTLIGHT - THE "SPECIALS" TEAM Everyone at TES has worked so hard to get school off to a great start. It takes all of us, but we would have a much more difficult time making it through these first few weeks of school without all of these very special people pitching in to do everything - from lending an extra pair of hands with our littles, subbing at the last minute, assisting with testing, translating, doing “Honey Dos” for anything teachers need, filing and helping in the office, just seeing what needs to be done and doing it without even being asked, and so much more!

TES AUGUST STUDENT LEADERS - GENESIS CASTRO - 3rd Grade and DAVIN JACOBS - 4th Grade Genesis has made a tremendous amount of growth since coming to TES three years ago. She has started the school year with a positive attitude and continues to show ROARing behavior in the classroom. Genesis always wants to be kind and helpful to others. She befriends and helps the younger students on the bus, and often translates for them. (Jennifer Nager - 3rd Grade Reading/Writing) Davin has had a great start to the school year. He is participating in class discussions and his behavior has been off the charts! As a fourth grader he is modeling how students should behave in the hallways and classroom, and often holds the door open for all students. Davin is showing what a true Tiger Leader looks like. TES MAY STUDENT LEADERS Lyla Barnes - 1st Grade and Ezra Phillips - Kindergarten I am so proud of the growth Lyla has shown this year. She is such a hard worker, and when she sets her mind to achieving a goal, nothing will stop her. She is a great friend to her classmates and to those not in her class as well. She is always willing to help those who are struggling with a task or to read with someone to help them improve their reading skills. Lyla helps to make my days better with her sweet smile and her loving hugs. Thank you Lyla for letting me be your teacher this year. (Melanie Cranford - First Grade Teacher) Ezra is always willing to help others and give his very best. Ezra brings an extra snack for a friend who doesn't bring one. He always thinks of others and wants to help. Ezra sets a good example for his classmates. It has been a true pleasure to have been his teacher this year. (Christina King - Kindergarten Teacher)

TES FUN DAY Even though all the rain made our grounds too wet for field day, TES students didn't let that dampen their fun. Huge thanks to Coach Freese, Coach Murphy and PTO for making an alternate plan, and providing the inflatable obstacle courses for all students to enjoy. Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade students

TES FIELD DAY INFORMATION Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 17 at Trenton Elementary School. Weather permitting, field day will start at 8:30 on the fields out back, and parents are invited to attend. Students will have a hot dog, chips and water for lunch after field day. We will release students at 12:00. Buses will run at 12:30. Please see the attached picture for the color of shirt for each grade level to wear. If your child was at TES last year they should have a field day shirt the color of their grade level listed below that they can wear. If not, any shirt this color would be great so we can easily identify the classes. In the event that it rains on field day, or that we have had so much rain previously that the fields are too wet, we will have to have our events in the gyms. If we have to go to this plan, the gyms will be full with the students and teachers, and unfortunately parents will not be able to attend. We will make this announcement no later than the day before field day on May 16.

TES JANUARY STUDENT LEADERS Gabriela Duran - Pre-K and Eli Recer- 4th Grade Gabriela Duran is doing a great job in Pre-K being a student leader. She strives to do her best on each assignment she is given and always does it with a smile on her face. She is kind to her classmates and her teachers. She is always willing to lend a helping hand if someone is struggling and needs a little help. She definitely has Tiger Spirit! - Jana Baugh (Pre-K Teacher) Eli Recer is a leader in 4th grade. He was the first student to finish all 4 sections of Extra Math, earning him a Snicker Bar. He completed addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. On Extra Math you have 6 seconds to answer each question and complete 100 questions. Eli has set the bar high. Super Proud of him! - Tabitha Spindle (4th Grade Teacher)
